Discussion On Current Issues in Refereeing

THE FOLLOWING UPDATE IS PROVIDED BY LSRFUR TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT OFFICER NICK COUSINS

Rugby always throws up discussion points for officials and we love a bit of controversy …. but recent games (notably the Six Nations games with sending offs and disputed tries) have thrown up more than usual.

The fact the we are all restricted to TV watching has focused our discussions somewhat and there has been quite a wide divergence of opinion.

We are incredibly fortunate in London Society to have One current International referee - Wayne Barnes - and one former international referee - JP Doyle - in our ranks and prepared to share their knowledge and experience with us.

They have both given permission for their recent pronouncements to be put up on our web site and I commend both these articles to you, and welcome any comments you have after you have viewed them.
