LSRFUR are delighted and honoured to have a number of our current members chosen to officiate during last weekend’s World Rugby London 7s at Twickenham.
Joe James was selected as an Assistant Referee, with Sam Phillips completing fourth official duties across the weekend. Society stalwarts Bob Ockenden and Frank Venner were also on time keeping duties at HQ, where Fiji successfully defended their title from 12 months ago.
Sam was also chosen to referee the re-match of the 2019 Rosslyn Park HSBC National School Sevens final between Sedbergh and Dulwich College, which provides the Twickenham crowd with a glimpse of the some of the sports future stars.
It is a great honour for all of the individuals, and for the society as a whole, to have these appointments to the elite level of the game. We know they all did a fantastic job and enjoyed it thoroughly. No doubt, there will be many more such opportunities to come in the future.
